About Skill Share
Did you know that in East Sussex there are hundreds of voluntary and community sector groups and organisations that work with children and young people?
Many struggle to provide the training that their paid staff and volunteers require. Sometimes this is because organising training opportunities is time consuming or simply just too costly.
The Swap Shop is a mechanism for you to keep in touch with other groups and organisations operating in the County. Its aim is to make it easier for your group or organisation to ensure workforce development is given the priority it deserves. Working together with other groups or organisations may help you overcome the obstacles you face and ensure that your workforce has the skills and knowledge it requires.
You can use the Swap Shop in a number of ways:
- - You can use it to find out if other organisations have spare places on a training course that you can access
- - You can offer places on a course that you are running
- - You might ask other organisations if they would be interested in sharing the cost of a particular training course
- - You might offer to train staff in another organisation in an area of your expertise in exchange for something they could offer
- - If organising training is new to you, you might ask other organisations for hints and tips
Working like this, in collaboration with other groups and organisations will help you ensure that your team can access the training it needs to do their work well. The possibilities are endless but to succeed the Swap Shop relies on individuals from many organisations visiting regularly.
It's easy to get involved, just visit the Swap Shop today.
