Other Resources

Social Value Assessment Tool
Community Matters has developed an online assessment tool for groups to demonstrate their social, economic and environmental impact. Your Value! builds a profile of an organisation's contribution to its community and will help them to show real added value, over and above any specific service outcomes when bidding for grants, contracts or even asset transfer. The report it generates will describe in plain English the group's reach and connectedness as well as the social capital they build and their contributions to the local economy and environment.

Community Toolkit
Community Toolkit is a FREE information resource for people who want to get involved in organising smaller, straightforward community activities. Created by Zurich Insurance to address barriers to community volunteering, it provides guidance on some legal, health and safety, insurance and planning issues.

Free Legal Advice Online
Initial Electronic Advice is a new web-based system which provides brief legal information in response to straightforward legal queries. It is designed to assist not-for-profit organisations and advice agencies providing help to those who cannot afford to pay for solicitors privately. Queries are answered by volunteers who give their time and expertise for free.

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre’s Thinkuknow website provides information and resources about safety online for children, young people and anyone who looks after them.

Working Together to Safeguard Children (a guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children) has a resources page that provides links to a number of useful documents and websites.

Community Newswire is a free news distribution service that lets charities and community groups upload their press releases and news stories, which are then picked up by journalists from the Press Association news agency, rewritten, fact checked and distributed to newsrooms nationwide.

The Red Cross Positive Images Toolkit is an educational resource for teachers, youth workers and anyone working with young people to help teach them about migration and development.
