Free Training from Skill Share - January - March 2012
Are you a voluntary group or organisation working with children, young people and families in East Sussex? If so you might be interested in a free programme of training for leaders, managers, staff and volunteers of voluntary and community sector groups and organisations.
Skill Share is offering free places on a range of training courses including child protection, challenging behaviour and supervision and appraisal. Courses covering twelve different topics are on offer but, because we endeavour to keep class sizes small, places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment! Click here for more info.
Child Protection Awareness for Volutary and Community Groups
The East Sussex Local Safeguarding Children Board will be running a one day course in Eastbourne on 24th April. Aims will be: To raise awareness of child protection issues, procedures and signs and indicators of child abuse; to enable staff to identify and respond to child protection concerns and to become aware of ESCC Child Protection Procedures; and to encourage and develop effective inter agency communication where child protection maters arise.For full course details as well as a downloadable nomination form please follow the link below:

Targeted Youth Support Assistants Training Programme
The Targeted Youth Support Service is providing a programme of evening and Saturday courses free to the voluntary sector. The following programme will support the development of skills and knowledge for all TYS Assistants and volunteers. Click here for more info.

Young Leaders' Training Programme
Sussex Clubs for Young People Young Leaders' Training Programme is for those aged 15-19 who are already involved in the running of their club or youth project, or have had some leadership experience. The course will take place from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 March 2012 at Bowles Activity Centre, near Tunbridge Wells, TN3 9LW. Subsidised cost: £30 per person. Coach Sussex Bursary
Applications are now open for the Coach Sussex Bursary. The bursary will provide coaches with the opportunity to undertake a level 1 or 2 coaching qualification with a financial bursary made available to support those who successfully complete their course and deliver coaching hours in return. The Coach Sussex Bursary will fund 75 per cent of the course cost, up to £150 for a level 1 and £200 for a level 2. Deadline for applications is 31 January. Click here for more info.
Everyday First Aid Training
The Red Cross have developed a new menu format of teaching first aid so providers can choose what they want their students/clients to learn. The cost is £30 +VAT for up to 2 hours for charities. For further info please contact Kirstie Hibberd, Youth Access Co-ordinator, Khibberd@redcross.org.uk

The Children's Rights Alliance for England (CRAE) is offering free human rights and equality training and support for under-18s involved in decision-making groups and structures.
